Welcome to THE 2011-12 SEASON

Golden Boot Award

The League's Official Stance on tthe Golden Boot Award has altered. Only goals scored in League matches will count towards the Award. On this website under the Award only league goals will count.

Under individual club goal scoring table we will still list cup and league goals but NOT include those scored in cup penalty shoot-outs.

Odd Fact of the Week

In the 1973-74 season Mullion lost four games in a row by the same scoreline, 0-4. Away at Truro City and Penzance, and home to Illogan and St Just. They lost another two games by the same score but still managed to finish the season in sixth place.

Champions

As the nineteen clubs start on the long trail to become Champions only seven of them have ever won the League title, Illogan RBL, Mullion, Newquay Reserves, Penryn Athletic Reserves, Perranwell, St Agnes and St Just. Will we see a new team hold the trophy aloft come the end of May?

Odd Fact of the Week

Many clubs have drawn four league games in a row, none have drawn five but one team drew six, St Columb Minor during the 1975-76 season. They drew against Porthleven Reserves 1-1, Illogan Reserves 3-3, Falmouth Docks 1-1, Porthleven, again 1-1, RNAS Culdrose 2-2 and finally St Just 2-2.

There are a revised set of League Rules available on this link plus the new fines for this season and requirements for promotion into the Combo.

WHAT IS FOOTBALL?

The modern game was codified in England following the formation of the Football Association, whose 1863 Laws of the Game created the foundations for the way the sport is played today. Football is governed internationally by Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA). The most prestigious international football competition is the World Cup, held every four years. This event, the most widely viewed and famous in the world, boasts twice the audience of the Summer Olympics.

Football (also known as association football or soccer) is a team sport played between two teams of 11 players each. It is widely considered to be the most popular sport in the world. A ball game, it is played on a rectangular grass field, or occasionally an artificial turf, with a goal at each end of the field. The object of the game is to score by manoeuvring the ball into the opposing goal; only the goalkeepers may use their hands or arms to propel the ball in general play. The team that scores the most goals by the end of the match wins. If the score is tied at the end of the game, either a draw is declared or the game goes into extended time, depending on the format of the competition.
